Gainer was opposed for the Florida Senate position by Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, who hoped to succeed his father Don Gaetz in the Senate position, but recently Gaetz opted to run for U.S. Congress, leaving Gainer unopposed in the quest for the seat.
Gainer recently appeared in an interview on ‘Real Florida Magazine’, speaking about his family history, education, heritage and business success in Jackson, Washington and Bay counties.
